Like a Child

When I was a child, my mother taught me the following song:

The B-I-B-L-E

Yes, that’s the book for me

I stand upon the word of God

The B-I-B-L-E

That’s a good song to teach to our children.  Not in just verse and melody but, more importantly,  in message as well.

Each of us as parents should be asking ourselves these questions:

  • Do our children believe that the bible is THE book for us?
  • Do our lives reflect a commitment to stand upon the words contained in that book?

We can answer that by simply observing where we turn for relevant answers to our questions, circumstances, and life’s frustrations.

Do we define our purpose by what He has given as instruction inside of His book?

For those of us who know and sing that song, are we singing it out of tune or messing the words up?

Because if we are, we have little hope of passing it on to the next generation.
